The Hiring Process
The recruitment of qualified personnel has been one of the most important factors in the success of our company. We seek ex-military and retired law enforcement professionals, and candidates with Peace Officers Standards of Training (POST) certification as well as entry level candidates seeking a career as a professional in the security industry. Overton actively recruits officers at job fairs and local college campuses, as well as with local media and traditional classified advertisements. When possible, it is the policy of Overton to hire full-time officers to regular 40-hour permanent schedules. While the greater portion of officers fall into this category, we do have a cadre of part-time employees who fill open shifts, or special assignments. All contractual obligations are always satisfied.
Equal Opportunity Employer
In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at Overton are based on merit, qualifications and abilities. Except where required or permitted by law, employment practices are not influenced or affected by an applicant’s or employee race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Overton will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities unless doing so would result in an undue hardship. This policy governs all aspects of employment, including selection, job assignment, compensation, discipline, termination, and access to benefits and training.
The Screening Process
Overton Security is a quality-driven company and quality begins in the hiring process. The officers we hire not only reflect on Overton Security and the industry as a whole, but more important, they reflect on our client. Overton Security utilizes an extensive screening process for all applicants and continues with an intensive evaluation for specific postings for security employment. Our screening process is not a process of elimination, rather it is a process of selection. We search out candidates with the skill requirements needed for each and every job we are assigned.
